I guess they think the view and beach makes up for the sad accommodations. These folks have forgotten it's about the customers. They obviously don't care or aren't able to handle the up keep anymore. If they're going to continue, they need to loosen the purse strings and pay someone to update this place or lower their prices to a low budget standard. I wouldn't pay more than $50 a night for the cabins as they currently exist even considering the beach and views. They are charging resort beach prices with none of the perks and conveniences of a resort.
My wife and I had spent the evening down at Camp merryelande very peaceful quiet beautiful place Mike Evans your gracious host thank you sir
Outdated and way overpriced for such old dated decor. The decor looks over 30 years old. They still have ancient tube TV's in their cottages that look 15-20 years old. granted your not here to watch TV but this just shows how much they care to reinvest in the business. Or don't care that is.
I love this place! I rented a cottage (8) for a weekend, and it was awesome. This is a campsite, so don't expect anything too fancy, but its a great place for family. One downside I must say, is that there may be jellyfish, which they do warn you about on the brochure you receive upon arrival. The staff here is great as well! Solomon was our go to man for the weekend, so shoutout to him for being so helpful! I love, love, this place, I will def be back!
Great place for a swim and cookout with enough space for tents to camp and people to be spread out. We rented cottage 1 which was enough for my family to be able to stay in but the furnature were just really old and needed updating. Bugs were a constant sight but did not interfere with us. Parking should be regulated though because there were people parking in our reserved spot which was meant for our other friends so maybe put a "reserved sign" or staff monitoring parking. Over all, had a great experience, i do not know how other's experience was but we had fun. If i wanted to come again the chances of me coming back would be 80%
Camp Merryelande is a wonderful place to stay and great to bring your family to, Thev friendly and hospitipale staff and owner make the stay even nicer. Visitors feel like part of the family quickly as your invited to cook outs, beach parties, boating and a round of miniature golf. The atmosphere is that of wholesome family fun, at night everything you could look for regarding night life. The camp is beautiful with panoramic views of the Chesapeake bay. The cottage make you feel like you are laying on the beach from your bed you can hear the small waves hit the shore. It is all a beach lover could wish for and more. I thoroughly have enjoyed multiple stays at camp Merrylande and plan on returning soon.
